Up for Banter

This weekend I installed a group of paintings at Banter Coffee Kitchen, on display throughout August. Displaying art in non-art spaces such as a cafes has been a great way for me to connect with new collectors over the years. Can you guess which cafe my first group of paintings were displayed in Toowoomba? ...

Below is a photo was taken in Oxygen Cafe Toowoomba in 2004 showing my first solo exhibition of new paintings. If you are local to the area you may now know this space as the home of Zev's restaurant. 16 years on and I am still hanging out in cafes. But these days purchases are made much easier and faster with ecommerce stores, social media and QR codes!

It is through the collaboration and generosity between local artists and cafe owners that these win/win opportunities occur. I love how this creates more chances for individuals to encounter and connect with artworks during their day, bridging the gap between the art world and everyday life one espresso at a time.

Thank you Banter Coffee Kitchen for the chance to share my art for the rest of winter. You can check them out at 229 Margaret Street, Toowoomba, across the street from Peter Snow & Co Real Estate.
